Providing perspective
My Role
I was the founding product designer who took a startup from 0–1; defined requirements, built the design system, designed the full platform, and collaborated with the founder and engineers to establish a feasible tech stack. I led a small team of two junior designers.
Mobile-first approach did not come naturally due to technical constraints, however, was the most crucial part of the platform's on-the-go ethos.
Learner frontend.
Pro frontend.
Core backend.
The platform was designed around three interconnected experiences: the learner interface for discovering and booking sessions, the guide interface for managing availability and delivering sessions, and the core backend that powers scheduling, matching, and real-time connections.

Designing them together was critical, as each action on one side directly impacted the others, requiring a cohesive system to ensure reliability and trust across the entire learning journey.
Versions that matter
We iterated rapidly, creating multiple versions of the app and testing different design directions to continuously incorporate user feedback. As user requirements evolved, we adapted alongside them often redesigning and shipping full app versions within a weeks time, ensuring the product remained intuitive, relevant, and genuinely convenient to use.
Scalable Design
Design for interaction
Designing scalable, non-templated components required careful planning to ensure seamless reuse across the platform. Through multiple iterations, we defined responsive behavior from the smallest screens upward; prioritizing mobile first, then adapting layouts for tablet and desktop. This approach reduced development time and cost while preserving performance, consistency, and code stability.
Designing a System
Building a robust platform requires a well-structured design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency. It establishes clear patterns and reusable components, enabling faster iteration while maintaining a cohesive user experience across the product.
Beyond Product Design
Great product design extends beyond the interface—considering how the product lives across touchpoints where users already spend time. We translated features and communication into clear, adaptable visuals for social platforms, helping the brand share value naturally in context. This consistency strengthened recognition, improved engagement, and supported steady audience growth.
